Cracked open

Cracked Open By April Gerard

A peak,
a bit of light shines
through the crack
in the door.

A barrenness here..

Not supposed to
be able to see it.

Frustrations
bottled emptiness.

Let them out!
But how can things be let out,
when its all just empty anyway?

Something..
something's changed

possibilities,
hope?  Don't know.

The crack,
it shouldn't be there,
the wall should've held steady.

Yet,
the pictures..
they look different now.

Somethings changed.
some things change.

Fears?  Don't know.

But there's a crack
where there wasn't one before...

I can relate to this very well.

Thinking of this, we're all filled with cracks quite craftily put together to show none of it. The one who cares to get close to see those cracks and heal them, are those special ones.

But, then, sometimes, there is a chance for those cracks to get aggravated. And, that is extremely fatal!

The way I see it, cracks are and will always be there. It depends on whether those are sealed (with the help of someone) OR coerced to be wide open.

A beautiful write. I love Leonard Cohen's quote: "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." Blessings!!

This is a very intriguing concept here. Sometimes there are changes in our life that are unexplainable. The photo is complimentary to your piece as well.

Opaque,
of course you can ;) but, I do agree wih you..there are cracks everywhere.

Marion,
Yes! I too love that quote. Though, I hadn't thought of it as I was writing this..but you are correct, it does fit with it nicely :)

The Write Girl,
Yes that is true. Life often does that when we need it most :)

Excellent--so simple, but a very important underlying meaning.

Pilgrim chick,
Glad you liked it, I often think sometimes simple says it best.
